Triumvirate

Riley #15

I believe good things do come in threes…. The Three Stooges, The Three Musketeers, three bean salad and my favorite, tres leche. At Thrush Sports Performance Center, we have the Clarke Triplets – Wain, Riley and Mac. Three great kids, three fierce competitors.

Wain plays football and basketball. While an injury has kept him off the court for a couple of weeks, it has not kept him out of the gym. We have been working to ensure his return is stronger than before and to prevent further injuries. Wain is expected to be back in action against the Spanaway Warriors.

On January 5, 2011 Riley led her 8th grade basketball team, Kalles, to a 58-56 win over the previously undefeated Ferrucci Jr. High. Riley had 37 points, 18 rebounds and six blocked shots. With the score tied at 56-56, Riley pulled down her 18th rebound, went coast-to-coast with a behind-the-back dribble at mid court, and hit the winning layup with seconds to go. Don't let the look of innocents fool you, this girl means business. Congrats Riley!

Mac is the soccer player and the smallest of the three. He also has the determination and spirit of an NFL linebacker. Of the three, Mac is the one wanting more. More squats, more cleans, more weight, more. We don’t have to ask, he will just do. Therefore, it was of no surprise when he made the Washington Olympic Development Team for the third year in row. Mac will be en route to Phoenix later this week as the Washington team meets Utah, Oregon and New Mexico in the US Youth Soccer Region IV ODP Championships. Good luck Mac and Team Washington.
